My experience at the University

Hi classmates and teacher. Today, I will tell you about how has been my experience studying at the university. 

My first year at superior studies was 2020, and I enter to Bachillerato Program of Universidad de Chile because I didn't know what I want to study. It was a little difficult because was the first year of pandemic. However, there I find my passion for Social Work and I decided to study that. So, in 2021 I transfer myself from Bachillerato to Social Work.

In Social Work that we study at Universidad de Chile, we have a program very different from other universities and that likes me a lot. We learn to analise social phenomena in an integral way, and how to intervene in that phenomena. We don't learn a tecnologized way to intervene like in the other universities, we learn how to intervene with polithics and theoricals fundaments. 

Because of that, we learn about epistemology of social sciences, critical purposes, fundaments of social work, social polithics, investigacion methodology, social history, intervention metodology, sociology, social indicators, and a lot of other themes that will help us in the future to analise social reality and to intervene that in an effective way, without assitencialistant thoughts.

That's why I feel passionate about my carreer. Because we can really make changes in the world that we live and we can change the profession and bring it back the cathegory of discipline that it lost in Dictatorial time in Chile. I would like that more people know Social Work in Universidad de Chile so they can change their minds about our work and way to do things. I think is very important to reivindicate the profession to make justice for all of our partners that die fighting for strong ideals of social justice and equality.

My experience learning English

This is my first year learning english at the univerity. I can tell this has been a very good

 experience. I didn't speak or wrote in english since a lot of time,

 and I really love to do that. When I was at school, I used to enjoy a lot the english classes

 because I learned new things everyday and that is so exciting, at least for me.

 And I feel the same in my classes at university. I think that speaking with classmates and

 teacher in a relaxed way help us to be able to discover how much do we know. 

About the blogs, I think that's a very good way to work in our capacities of narrative,

 and also we can practice how to write things without fear of getting wrong.

 I think this give me a big peace of mind. 

In other way, I think that the aspects that I have to work the most are the pronunciation and

 vocabulary, because many tmes I feel empty of words that can exprese what I want to say.

 I would really like to work on that in classes, because outside I have no many time to

 practice english, unless I sing songs of english singers. However, I also use english to read  some announcements and that kind of stuff.

My dreams of postgraduate studies

Hi classmates and teacher. In today's entry I will like to tell you about the postgraduate studies that I will like to do in the future.

By now, I'm in my third year of Social Work but I have already thought about what I would like to study after I finish my carreer. I would really like to suscribe to the continous studies that the University offer because with that, I can do a carrer and a postgrade in only six years. 

However I already made my mind about what I will do, I have not decide yet what master I will study. I feel really interested in Sociocultural Anthropology Master and in Social Work Master. After I study one of that, I would really like to study Philosophy and a doctorate. Nonetheless, I think it will not be possible because is very expensive to study here in Chile and if I go to study to another country it will also be expensive.

I checked on the links that the teacher share with us and I found out that I feel very interested in the master of Social Work that York University has. So I will considerate too in the moment I will have to decide what to do with my postgrade studies. 

My dream job

Since I was a child I dreamt about being an astronomic. This job and in particular the knowledge that it needs interested me a lot. Seeing the sky and know what are we seeing I think is so beautiful and romantic in a way. I would really like to actually study that, but I'm bad with numbers and physics so I think that's no a viable idea. 

Nonetheless, I still get interested when I read about themes that are related to the astronomic stuff, because even when I'm not good with numbers, I like a lot to understand theorically what are in the space. And I will not deny that sometimes I still dream about being an astronomic someday, but I already decided to study Social Work.

Another thing that I would like about being an astronomic is the fact that I would have to travel a lot to actually can see the sky with telescopes and go to congresses about how big the universe is and how small are the knowns that we already has as humans living in the planet earth.

 However, because of the career I choose I would not have to travel a lot, but maybe I could make a difference in the world with real people, and that also makes me feel happy and proud of my decision. 

My favorite concert

My favorite concert was when I saw Sticky Fingers. An Australian band that have come to Chile four times by now. I knew them about 2016 and I inmediatly love them. They have very variate music and it relax me so much. 

The first time I go to a concert of them was in 2018, and it was in Hipodromo of Estadio Nacional. Then, I have the chance to see them tw times in January of 2020. Both instances were so friendly and all the people was very happy to finally see Sticky Fingers personally. Also, they were very lovely with us, and talk a lot during the show.

I felt so happy because I waited much time to go to a concert of them and when I have the oportunity I went with good friends that loved them as much as me. We spend a very good time there, even when we have to wait a lot of hours to enter to the place of the show. 

A very beautiful ad special detail that I remember is that for the second time I saw them, was the birthday of one of the integrants of the band, and we sang happy birthday to him.

By now I feel so nostalgic about the shows that I went in 2020 because after that we all fall into quarantine because of the COVID-19 and our lifes experience extremes changes. However, I didn´t see them in his last show that was last year, because I didn´t have the money by the moment of the sail. I feel truly sad for that. 

My dreams of Barcelona

 Last night I was dreaming about a travel where I get to know Barcelona. Since I was a child Barcelona sounds like a very nice place to me, mostly because of the architecture and the accent that the habitants have. 

So, because of this dream I decide to investigate more of this city, and here I will show you the most interesting things I found. 

Here, you can see the "Sagrada Familia" monument, wich is one of the more famous places in Barcelona. This place is very interesting because it ins't finish yet, even though the construction iniciated in 1882, with the guide of the architect Gaudí.

This is the "Park Güell". It is a public park, also designed by Antonio Gaudí. It's situated into the highest place of Barcelona, as you can see in the photo. There's a combination of architecture things and nature things wich make this a magical place. It is also considerated as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

During my searching of information about the most beautiful places of Barcelona, I also found the called "Barrio Gótico", wich takes us back to the Medieval age, with the architecture.It also has a cathedral, that according to google, is very beautiful. Besides, you can found romans rests about a thousand years ago. Finally, something that interested me a lot was the fact that you can see the hole Barrio Gótico from "El Mirador de Colón". I will put the picture of that right down here.
